Using laser energy to stimulate acupuncture points. This hot topic in veterinary physical rehabilitation is actually very cool, as most lasers don’t generate significant heat that burns hair or skin. Laser therapy is the stimulation of cutaneous points with a noninvasive and non-painful, low-power laser. Treatments can be used as an alternative to dry needle acupuncture for the stimulation of acupuncture points or wound healing. There is evidence that laser therapy is an effective treatment for arthritis and promotes tissue healing.
