1. My husband and I can't say enough great things about Dr. A and his team! We were so grateful that our fur baby was in their care. They were knowledgeable and addressed every concern or question related to diagnosing our baby and her TPLO surgery. It was evident that the team at Life Care Pet Hospital loves what they do and were great at communicating every step of the way. I’m so thankful that we chose Dr. A and his team. I highly recommend them!

  2. I brought both Lady and Sebastian for their dental and the staff and Dr. Murphy was absolutely amazing. They kept me in full communication to let me know how my fur babies were doing throughout the entire time. This experience has made me switch vets altogether. They are now our new vet. I felt completely comfortable knowing they were in great hands.

  3. I have been bringing my dog here for a couple years now after being part of a different wellness plan with a different vet practice. The main reason I left the other practice was due to their extremely limited ability. I have never had an issue getting an appointment for my dog at Lifecare, and most of the time he can be seen the same day, even for non-emergent needs. Dr. A and Dr. Murphy are both great, and truly care for my dog. The staff are very nice as well, and are very patient with my anxious dog who likes to bark incessantly as soon as we walk in the door. Highly recommend this practice, and I'm very grateful to have found a great vet so close to home.

  4. Dr. Murphy and Dr. A are two of the best vets I have had. One of my older dogs sees Dr. Murphy for holistic care (acupuncture and chiropractic work) and my puppy recently had hip surgery with Dr. A. We could not be more happy with the service provided by this clinic. All the staff members are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

  5. I am grateful for Dr A and the team at LifeCare Pet Hospital! My dog Sema had both leg TPLO surgeries here. I am happy to say he recovered wonderfully and is able to run again! The staff really cared for him, and liked his personality, despite how much Sema did not want to be there or struggled. They even helped carry his 100 pounds out to the car after surgery. TPLO surgery is tough, but they made the process easier. I knew this was the right place just from the initial phone call, the staff spent time to answer all my questions, unlike many other vets I called to compare. They are also always responsive to emails. After having such a good experience, I have transferred all of my dogs vets here. The service, care, and pricing is exceptional compared to what I was receiving at VCA Alexandria. I don’t mind the extra drive to have quality pet care here. You will do your pet a solid by coming to LifeCare Pet Hospital. Thank you so much!

  6. Highly recommend LifeCare Pet Hospital. We brought our dog in after she wasn't responding properly to medications provided by another Vet and had an allergic reaction to it. After watching her struggle, we decided to try a different Vet and called Life Care. Dr. Murphy and her team were excellent. From the front desk to the Vet Assistant and the Veterinarian herself, their service and attention to detail was top notch. Within 48 hours, our dog began to feel better and has now thankfully made a full recovery. We will be turning to Life Care for all future veterinary needs.

  7. Our then 9-year old golden retriever mix, Cooper, had TPLO surgery here last year. He's doing so well right now at 10 and a half - he was able to start running around like he could before the injury after about 8 weeks and he's still going strong! Very thankful for the kind vets and support staff at LifeCare. Their process is night and day better than other vets when it comes to surgeries. You get an all-inclusive price upfront that includes all of the recovery costs and they provide an itemized list of every medication and procedure planned. Other vets we contacted were $1500-2000 higher on TPLO surgery costs alone and those didn't include the same recovery costs/physical therapy. Highly recommend LifeCare!

  8. Few days ago I took my 2-year-old cat to LifeCare Pet Hospital for the first time. My cat struggles with anxiety and finding a vet who could handle the "catittude" always been a struggle. She was never able to get a full, detailed exam even when on gabapentin until we met Dr. Murphy and her amazing staff. My cat behavior was no different than any other vet visits but Dr. Murphy and her staff remained calm, handled her with care and performed well on the overdue full wellness exam. Place is super clean, very calm environment and from the moment we walked in and walked out, everyone was super friendly. Highly recommend LifeCare Pet Hospital.

  10. Our 11 year old pug/pitt/ German Shepard mix tore her ccl last year. We consulted with several vets in the area and finally decided to go with Lifecare Pet Hospital. From day one, the vet and staff were so kind and willing to answer all our questions. No doubt, the TPLO surgery is tough for the dog (and the family) to recover from and it does take months to get back to normalcy. The vet set our expectations and we knew what we were in for. Our dog healed great and she is able to play and run with our other dog as she did before the tear. Thank you for everything Lifecare!

  11. Super happy with LifeCare Pet Hospital! My dog TPLO went great. They have great pricing, diligent follow up, friendly staff, clean environment, and they know what they’re talking about! If I could give 10 stars I would. Penelope and I are thankful that we found such a wonderful vet. Thanks again!

  12. We were having a hard time to find a surgeon who would perform the tplo on our sahara and be affordable. Well LifeCare Pet Hospital popped up on a Google search and we were inline. They offered competitive prices and sounded like there were only upsides... when we arrived at the first appointment and had met Dr. A We were confident we made a good choice.. after the first surgery we saw immediate improvement. After a second it was straight on the path of recovery. Now over a year and Sahara is fully healed with all that behind her. LifeCare pet hospital saved our sahara and she is fully healed and doing better than ever before thank you Dr. A.

  13. To our dismay our local Vet informed us our 4 yr old Boston Terrier Gnocchi needed a dual surgery on her back leg. He explained he didn't have the equipment or training to perform a TPLO this meant we had to do homework to secure a well qualified hospital and Dr. within reasonable driving distance from our area in Eastern Panhandle WV. I accidentally came across LifeCare Pet Hospital by entering 150 miles within our home area, it would prove to be a very fruitful search. We called that evening and inquired about our needs and were assured we had the right place that Dr. A would provide her care!. After fulfilling an x-ray appt and Dr. visit her surgery appt was scheduled. During the initial appt I asked Dr. A how many of this type of surgery he had performed. I thought he said 45 but the number was 450 which along with many reassuring reviews we knew Dr. A was the best possible Surgeon. The office is a well oiled machine everyone knows their part and are polite, compassionate and consistent. The outcome for Gnocchi has been a super success under Dr. A's expertise. The cost was manageable for us and definitely competitive in a good way with other area hospitals. As a retired nurse I can attest she received the best most secure care available anywhere. We are so grateful we chose your practice to extend and restore her life and health.

  14. 8 year old Golden Retriever from Virginia Beach, needs a rear TPLO operation to repair her Achilles. They were able to fit us in ASAP, versus waiting for weeks back home. Did an incredible job and monitored her for 2 months post procedure. I would send anyone to them, they do great work and keep answering your questions.

  15. Always had a great experience at LifeCare Pet Hospital. Our dog had several surgeries there and we were always pleased with the process and outcome. Great communication (via email and text as well), great care, great doctors and staff, clean and convenient facilities and overall very positive experiences. Highly recommend it :-)

  16. I brought my doggo, Samus, here to have two of her cruciate ligaments repaired as she injured both her hind legs while playing too vigorously with two other mischievous doggos about a year ago. After doing extensive research in the area about vets that were qualified to perform TPLO surgery, I came upon LifeCare Pet Hospital, and after talking to the doctor and the staff I felt very much at ease that not only was Samus going to get the best of care here, but the price was also the most affordable of the bunch. Two weeks later Samus got the first of her TPLO surgeries and it was amazing seeing her quickly regain the use of her leg to pre-injury form. The surgeon (I feel like a huge jerk for not remembering his name) and his nurse/receptionist, Maria, are amazing people and really took an amazing look at my pup. The surgeon took the time to explain in detail what the surgery was, how he was going to perform it, explained the x-rays post-surgery, and provided detailed instruction on post-care. Maria even clipped Samus' toenails while she was zonked out just because she's nice like that. All in all, if you own a dog that needs surgery and you want the best care and the most affordable costs, there is no better option than LifeCare. Not an opinion, just a fact.

  17. My dog had her TPLO surgery here a year ago. I did a few consults but didn’t feel great about the doctors I met and after reading so many great reviews I decided to drive out to this place. I am so happy I did, right away the doctor and whole team made me feel like they were always there to answer any questions or explain things. My dog has healed completely and you’d never know she had a surgery. Also I have been able to see that their priority is what’s best for the pet and not financial, they will not push you into an unneeded surgery. About 6 months post op I thought she tore the other knee and brought her in ready to do the surgery that day if that was advised. I had signed the invoice and everything. Dr. A evaluated her and said he thinks we can hold off and it may have just been a temporary injury, and to come back in a few weeks if there are more symptoms. Sure enough, 6 months later she still has not needed the second surgery. I am so grateful to Dr. A for his honesty and I would recommend this place to anyone.

  18. Dr. Murphy has been wonderful to work with, especially as a first time pet owner. Their insurance plan is so helpful with everything puppy related and we plan to keep it for our dog’s adulthood too. She knows her dogs by name even over the phone and takes time to answer any and every question. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better vet. HIGHLY recommend it!
